Kudos to mayor, city council on water rates
To the editor:
The article in the Fairfield Ledger today, Feb. 15, shows great leadership from the mayor and city council. The concern over increased water rates for the fixed income population of our dear city and county are well founded and need to be addressed.
Thank you, city council, for looking into concrete ideas of reducing the burden for these folks. It is this kind of tone and caring that is so lacking in our national discussion and we can do better.
Let’s show people that this community cares about everyone and is sensitive to fairness, even for those less fortunate. Kudos to the Honorable Mayor Malloy and our city council!
I look forward to what Doug Flournoy comes up with in his research. Perhaps we should open up the discussion to other leaders in the community that are familiar with the fixed income population and are currently serving this population.
