‘Last Supper’ begins rehearsals
The Van Buren County Cooperative Ministries group will present its 42nd annual living dramatization of Leonard Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” this Easter season.
The hour-long dramatization by Ernest K. Emurian, including music and worship, will be presented Palm Sunday, March 24, at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield; March 25 at Farmington Methodist Church in Farmington; and March 26 at West Point Presbyterian Church in West Point. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. A free-will offering is collected.
The re-enactment of The Last Supper was first presented in 1971 in Keosauqua. Since then, it has been presented more than 70 times in locations throughout southeast Iowa and Missouri.
John Preston and Larry Smith, both from Birmingham, are among those portraying the disciples again this year. Beverly O’Brien will be the narrator.
