Leadership Now planned Nov. 11 in Ottumwa
OTTUMWA — A conference promoting positive leadership qualities, entitled Leadership Now, will be 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. The event is open to anyone who has an interest in leadership, particularly potential leaders in this region. The goal is to increase the number of people in the region who are actively engaged in promoting and practicing positive leadership qualities.
In addition to multiple breakout sessions, the conference will feature two keynote speakers.
Col. (Ret.) Ken Rizer will open the conference with “From Battlefield to Boardroom – Lessons in Transformational Leadership.” In honor of Veterans Day, any active duty or military veteran can attend Rizer’s presentation at no cost.
The closing keynote speaker will be Andy Stoll presenting “Getting Ahead in the Hyperconnected Age.” Stoll is a social entrepreneur and producer who has expertise in utilizing technology and social media to grow community betterment organizations. He is co-founder of NewBoCo, Seed Here Studio, and The James Gang. Stoll also is an adjunct faculty member at Cornell College in the department of economics and business.

The registration fee for the conference is $79. Special rates are available for ActionCOACH Heartland, Indian Hills Community College, Iowa State University Extension & Outreach, and the Ottumwa Leadership Academy program participants and alumni, high school, Job Corps and IHCC students, and organizations with groups of 10.
