Libertyville Halloween costume, parade winners announced
LIBERTYVILLE — The 43rd Libertyville Halloween Parade was held Saturday, with a variety of witches, super heroes, storybook characters, princesses, army men and even Shrek on hand.
The Libertyville Fire Department lead the parade with the Fairfield Middle School Marching Band following. The FMS band, instructed by Mary Andersen, started the parade off with “The Star Spangled Banner.”
The costume winners were:
Babies - 2 Year Olds — first place, Peyton Neubauer; second place, Noah Haynes; third place, Preston Downing.
Preschool — first place, Ian Miller; second place, Marley Rose Copeland; third place, Alexandra Steward.
Kindergarten — first place, Audra Steigleder; second place, Iris Lane; third place, Jaxon Strickler.
First and Second Grade — first place, Shane Williams; second place, Aaron Marcellus; third place, Kaylee Miller.
Third and Fourth Grade — first place, Ana Carminhato; second place, unclaimed; third place, Brendan Marcellus.
Fifth and Sixth Grade — first place, Dylan Barras; second place, Daylan Sinn.
Seventh Grade - Adult — Bob Waugh, who entertained as Shrek.
Honorable Mention — Sterling Spees, Sara Weaver and Jaxen Wayne and Kayse Miller.
Floats included Tade and Linden Richardson dressed as Farmer Smurf and Strawberry Shortcake; Faith United Methodist Church float, which featured many children; and Libertyville Savings Bank with its “Hunt No More” themed float.
The parade was sponsored by the Libertyville Community Center, with support from Libertyville Savings Bank, city of Libertyville, Live Wire Electric, Porter Family, Libertyville Gas & Goodies, TD&T Financial Group, Smithburg Automotive, Farmers’ Co-op, RPM Automotive, Fesler Auto Mall, Hickenbottom Inc., Libertyville Elementary School, Barclay Hedge Ltd, Dew Drop Inn, Atwood Pumpkins and Christmas Trees, Liberty Whitetail, Haney Auto, Libertyville Fire Department, Farm Bureau - Alex Kessel, and Straight Up Doors.
