Library plans Winter Reading Bingo game

Dec 01, 2016

Frosty weather is on the way and the Fairfield Public Library is hoping everyone will curl up with a good book.

“We’re kicking off our winter reading game today,” said Afton Hallauer, youth services librarian.

This winter’s game is designed around the game of bingo. All adults, teens and youth are invited to participate.

Winter Reading Bingo cards are available at the Fairfield Public Library’s front desk.

“The idea is to challenge patrons to read something new, something outside of what they might usually pick up to read,” said Hallauer. Some categories include: “read a book set during winter;” “a book published the year you were born;” a book with a blue spine;” and more.

Readers who read a book from three categories in a row on their bingo card win a free book, said Hallauer. The program continues until March 1.
