Library showing free film Friday
The Fairfield Public Library will host a free movie at 7:30 p.m. Friday to coincide with National Library Week.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Guests are advised to arrive early because seating is limited. The library accepts donations to defray the cost of its movie licenses and for the organic popcorn served at the event.
The film is an animated fantasy tale which opens the world of books to younger viewers. The film begins in live action and quickly switches to animation.
Richard is a fearful little boy until an odd librarian sends him on a magical journey into literature where the characters spring to life. He is assisted by pals Adventure, Fantasy and Horror.
To escape from this fantastical world, Richard must reach the “Exit” sign, but is hindered by many literary characters along the way.
The film is rated G and runs one hour, 15 minutes.
Genre: action and adventure, kids and family, science fiction and fantasy.
