Lions Club spaghetti fundraiser successful
The Lions Club of Fairfield would like to thank the entire Fairfield community for making our latest spaghetti fundraiser so successful. We served a record number of people this year and the final amount we will be able to give back to the FHS sports and fine arts programs will be more than $4,000.
This fundraiser has grown larger each year since we started it in 2009 and without the great team effort of the FHS faculty and students, booster club members, Best Western staff and Lions members it would not be possible. Special thanks to Larry Thompson, general manager of the Best Western in Fairfield who had just started his new duties in Fairfield two months prior to our event.
He embraced the fundraiser from the first time we mentioned it to him and he and his staff did an outstanding job and were a vital part of making the event run as smoothly as it did. Thanks also to the numerous retailers around Fairfield who donated items to be raffled off throughout the evening. Last but not least, thanks to the people who attended our event and who have backed our school and our students the way you have over the years.
Fairfield is a great community to raise your family in and the evidence of that could clearly be seen the night of our fundraiser. Plans are already being made to make next year’s fundraiser bigger and better than this year’s, so we look forward to the challenge and I know as a community we will make that happen. From the entire Spaghetti fundraising committee, “Thank you.”
