Loebsack encourages voting in art contest
Voting for the 2014 Congressional Art Contest is open and closes at 5 p.m. Friday.
For the first time, residents can choose the winner.
The high school student selected as the 2014 People’s Choice Award winner will represent Iowa’s Second District and have his or her artwork displayed in the tunnel leading to the U.S. Capitol for one year.
“Believe me, it is going to be a tough choice for you to make,” said Congressman Dave Loebsack. “We received 167 entries from 13 schools in 10 counties. With so many talented artists in our high schools, there are a lot of high quality pieces of work for you to pick from.”
Anyone can vote once a day online at loebsack.house.gov/forms/form/?ID=3079 where the art work is displayed along with artists’ names.
“Online voting is very simple,” said Loebsack. “Scroll through to view the entries, and then chose from the dropdown list at the bottom to select who you think is the best.
“Please feel free to share the link on your Facebook and Twitter pages to encourage your friends and family to vote as well,” he said.
