DECORAH — Kevin Kraus, Luther College vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, has announced that Alexander Greiner, a Luther College senior from Fairfield, was named to the 2013 spring semester dean’s list.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades — A, B, C, D.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Hannah Kay Goemaat and Cara Maye Goemaat, daughters of Philip L. and Norlene Goemaat of Milton, were named to the Pensacola Christian College President’s List for academic achievement during the 2013 spring semester.
Being named to the president’s list was the result of earning a 4.0 average.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Chad Niederhuth of Stockport earned his doctorate degree in biological science under the mentorship of John Walker from the University of Missouri May 18.
Niederhuth received his Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy and crop science from Iowa State University in 2007. He interned for CSIR during the summer of 2007 in Pretoria, South Africa, working with cloning of microbiocides for production of maize.
In August 2007, Niederhuth began his graduate studies in the Walker Lab at the University of Missouri. His education was interrupted when he was deployed as a combat engineer with the Georgia National Guard to Afghanistan from 2009-2010. He was the lead husky driver as part of a route-clearance patrol.
After his deployment, Niederhuth continued his research and presented his dissertation “Genomics of Floral Organ Abscission in Arabidopsis Thaliana” April 24.
This fall, Niederhuth will be employed with the Schmitz Lab at the University of Georgia doing research in genomics, epigenomics and plant biology.
CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College has announced its president’s list, dean’s list and honor roll for the spring 2013 semester.
Dean Ekle, junior business administration major, from Farmington, was named to the dean’s list. Ekle is the son of Bonnie Ekle of Farmington.
Karen Livesay, sophomore business administration major, from Mount Sterling, was named to the president’s list. Livesay is the daughter of Rod and Sheila Livesay of Mount Sterling.
Marshall Stevens, sophomore graphic design major, from Hillsboro, was named to the honor roll. Stevens is the son of Tony and Peggy Stevens of Hillsboro.
President’s list students have earned a 4.0 grade point average and were enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours. Dean’s list students have earned between a 3.5 and 3.99 GPA and were enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, with no grade lower than a C. Honor roll students have earned between a 3.2 and 3.49 and were enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, with no grade lower than a C.
