Magram plans 20th annual benefit concert
For the 20th time, Jonas Magram will host his annual Children’s Holiday Benefit Concert at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Café Paradiso.
Producing the concert in November is a departure from its traditional December scheduling, a move Magram says was made to avoid conflict with other holiday activities and unpredictable December weather.
This year’s benefit will featuring Magram and his Seventh Ray Band performing original “positive thought” folk-rock music from their three albums, Dancing In The Light, Freedom Train and Straight From My Heart. With songs ranging from beautiful and moving ballads like “Pledged To Our Love” and “Jake’s Song” – written for his wife and son, to can’t-keep-in-your-seat tunes like “Grateful Most For You,” “Holy Heart” and “As A Man Thinketh,” the Seventh Ray’s music is treat for mind, heart, body and soul.
In addition to Magram, with lead vocals and guitar, the Seventh Ray Band features Tim Britton on mandolin, flute, Bonnie Van Buskirk with vocals, Tim Duffy on keyboard, guitar, vocals, William Clancey on bass, T.J. Gates on drums and John Schirmer on lead guitar. Together they create what “Chicken Soup For The Woman’s Soul” author Marci Shimoff and many others describe as music with a “power, joy and grace that last long after the last note is played.”
Tickets are $12 or $10 for IA Course participants and are available at Café Paradiso in advance and at the door.
The joyful, moving and inspiring evening will benefit children-in-need.
