Man charged with filing false kidnapping report
RED OAK (AP) — Authorities say a Red Oak man who told his mother he was being kidnapped has been charged with filing a false report.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says deputies dispatched after a report by the mother of 21-year-old Chase Palmer found the man at a friend’s residence. The Daily Nonpareil reports that the deputies determined that Palmer had not been kidnapped but rather had lost his keys and was locked out of his home.
A public phone listing for Palmer couldn’t be found. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for Palmer.
