Many contributed to ‘Thanksgiving in July’
To the editor:
On behalf of the Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County, we are writing to thank the entire community for once again answering our request for support.
The “Thanksgiving in July” communitywide food drive, recently completed, brought in plentiful donations of non-perishable food and generous cash contributions from individuals and businesses.
Our shelves have been refilled and our funds have been replenished, enabling us to continue to serve those in need among us during this summer season.
Special thanks must be given to those organizations and businesses who became our “partners” in support of this effort: all of the management and staff of Fairfield Hy-Vee, Rustin Lippincott and the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, Terry Baker and the Fairfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, Derek Anderson and TREAT Theater, Randy West and Way Off Broadway, Jim Edgeton and the Fairfield Community Band, Carole Boggs and the Fairfield Volunteer Center, Jefferson County Health Center, Everybody’s, Iowa State Bank & Trust, MidWestOne Bank, Libertyville Savings Bank, First National Bank, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. and Frontline Printing.
At this time, we also extend our sincere thank you to our continuing partners Hy-Vee for their regular contributions of bread products and Walmart for their regular donations of meat products. Those donations are truly valuable for our clients and their families.
Once again, our caring community has come together to graciously reach out to our neighbors. The Lord’s Cupboard welcomes your support, in donations of food (including fresh garden produce), paper products, cleaning products and grooming needs, as well as monetary contributions, at any time. Thank you, Fairfield and Jefferson County!
