Marjorie R. Sayre
Marjorie R. Sayre, 77, of Keosauqua died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at home.
A memorial service is at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Kevin Mote officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1592 Broad St., Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. Sayre was born July 12, 1936, in Mechanicsburg, Ill., the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Moore Crowe. She married David Sayre Sept. 11, 1954, at Keosauqua United Methodist Church.
She lived most of her life in Keosauqua.
She was a social worker at the Department of Human Services, serving the counties of Van Buren, Jefferson, Wapello and Keokuk.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and had worked on the Van Buren County Election Board.
Survivors include her husband, David; one son, Steve Sayre of Keosauqua; one daughter, Rita Tedrow of Keosauqua; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Crowe of Keosauqua; and one sister, Doris Overstreet of Viola, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
