Mayer, Waltz married in July 30 in Orient
Alison Mayer and Lucas Waltz, both of Creston, were married during a 4 p.m. ceremony Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Orient United Methodist Church in Orient.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Betty Mayer of Fairfield. The groom is the son of Brad and Ronda Waltz of Creston.
The bride wore an ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline, lace shoulder straps, beaded belt, full tulle skirt and court-length train.
Ashley Atkinson was matron of honor. Melanie Norton, Emily Helling and Whitney Lovelace were bridesmaids. They wore coral, chiffon dresses with an illusion and sweetheart neckline.
Cara Soukup was the bride’s personal attendant.
Cody Gilbert was best man. Ethan Harris, and the groom’s cousins Tyson Woods and Cyle Taylor were groomsmen.
Ushers were the bride’s brother Aaron Mayer, and the groom’s brothers Nathan Waltz and Matthew Waltz.
The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Cathy Nutting. LeAnne Edgeton was pianist and Jeanie Mayer was soloist.
The reception was at Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield. A catered dinner was served at 6:30 p.m. Hosts were Jim and Becky Zirpel, the bride’s uncle and aunt, and Cindy and Dan Woods, the groom’s aunt and uncle. The three-layer vanilla and almond cake was provided by Rhonda Cooper.
The dance began with the bride and groom dancing to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” followed by the bride and her father waltzing to “The Dream Catcher Waltz,” and the groom and his mother dancing to “All to You.”
The couple honeymooned to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic Aug. 5-9.
The bride graduated from Fairfield High School in 2009 and from Simpson College in Indianola in 2013. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in early childhood education from University of Northern Iowa. She is a first-grade teacher in Creston.
The groom graduated from Creston High School in 2010 and from Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri, in 2013. He is employed by Vanmark Equipment in Creston.
The couple now resides in Creston.
