Maynard Duane Warner
Maynard Duane Warner, 82, formerly of Douds, died at 12:11 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his home in Indianola.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Leando Cemetery in Douds.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Warner was born April 15, 1934, in Blakesburg to Clyde and Freda Glosser Warner. He married Claudette Basil in 1954.
He graduated from Blakesburg High School in 1951 then worked at John Morrell & Co. in Ottumwa until its closing in 1973. He served as a union steward and supervisor. He also was a farmer, a truck driver for both Douds Stone and Schaus-Vorhies Kleaning. He retired in 2015.
He and his wife lived on a farm near Douds.Later in life, he moved to Indianola.
His pastimes included horses, reading western novels, cribbage and visiting the casino. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and family gatherings.
Survivors include: sons, Curtis Warner (Carol) of Stockport, Monte Warner (Lori) of Ottumwa; daughters, Connie Burnham (Mark) of Lockridge, Lori Orwig (Mike) of Indianola; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gordon Warner of Carrolton, Texas, Steven Warner of Iowa City; and sister, Gayle Buxton of Kalona.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Evelyn; daughter, Vicki; sons, Guy and Brian Warner; and one grandson.
