McMahon offering swimming skills class as fundraiser
Jane McMahon will be teaching another Fairfield Park and Recreation Department swimming skills class, with all proceeds going to the community recreation project to build a new outdoor pool and gym.
The three-day class is set from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 and Oct. 24 at Roosevelt Aquatic Center.
Each novice and experienced swimmer will get individual guidance to meet their needs and wants.
Swimmers can improve their swim technique.
“We can cover all the strokes, including turns,” said McMahon. “Have you been curious about the butterfly? Let’s try it. Want to leran proper form for backstroke? Let’s work on rotation.”
For swimmers who feel their swim routine is getting stale, “let’s add some drills and workout routines,” said McMahon. “We’ll pull out the paddles and fins, too.”
Participants should bring goggles, and women should bring swimcaps.
“I’m looking forward to helping you have some fun and learn something at the pool,” said McMahon.
The fee is $30. For information or registration, call 472-6159 or visit the website www.fairfieldparksandrec.org.
