Middle school dance
From left, Dakota Wadhams, Giuseppi Smith, Maya Gottshall and Hailey Patrick move to the rhythm of the music at a dance hosted by the Jefferson County Alcohol Consumption Task Force May 30 at the Fairfield Middle School. The dance was as educational as it was entertaining. Middle school students chowed down on pizza and danced to today’s hit music before breaking into small groups to talk about how they could prevent alcohol from ruining their lives and the lives of their friends. The alcohol consumption task force’s Don Sander said the event was the fourth townhall meeting to focus on alcohol consumption and that the meetings are usually held at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. However, Sander said the middle school was a better location since it was more familiar to the middle school students, who are the program’s target audience.
