Midnight Swinger comedy Aug. 16

Aug 09, 2013

The Midnight Swinger is coming to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center for a comedy night of laughin,’ singin’ and swingin,’ at 8 p.m. Aug. 16.

The Midnight Swinger is the Guinness World Record holder for the longest stand-up comedy act at more than 40 straight hours.

More than just a stand-up comedian, The Midnight Swinger is proud to be called a throwback entertainer. The Swinger believes in more than just standing behind the microphone and telling jokes and doing more than just a simple “comedy show.”

Putting the “show” back in showman, The Midnight Swinger combines the cool style of a 1960s Las Vegas performer with the flash and excitement of a 21st century Super Bowl halftime extravaganza.

The Midnight Swinger erupts onto the stage like the volcano in front of the Mirage Hotel in a fresh and original, over-the-top event that has been called “sharp-witted,” “clever” and “classy.”

No matter where he is performing, The Swinger always wears the sharpest threads; stylin’ and profilin’ with an oversized pompadour and will be the first to say: “Damn, I look good,” his battle cry before, during and after every show.

This never-subtle or soft-spoken dude, The Midnight Swinger heats up the room as he puts on a classic Las Vegas-style show, one night only, at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

Comedian and musician Dwayne Clark will open the night of laughs.

Clark, from Des Moines, has played the Chicago House of Blues, opened for Rick Springfield, Weird Al and Loverboy and will get the night started with audience participation humor and music.

The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, along with Red Rock Tavern, joined forces to present the comedy show.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center Box Office. Video clips of The Midnight Swinger are available at www.FairfieldACC.com.
