Mobile home park owner penalized for water supply violations
DAVENPORT (AP) — The owner of a mobile home park has been penalized for violating Iowa rules on wastewater treatment and water supply.
A consent decree entered in Scott County District Court this week says Peeters Development Co. must pay $20,000 to the state.
The state sued Peeters in December, alleging violations from 2013 through 2015. Among the violations listed were excess arsenic levels and failure to notify park residents about levels of arsenic and other substances. The wastewater violations listed included failure to operate and maintain the wastewater plant and exceeding effluent limits.
One of the company principals, Mary Peeters, declined to comment Friday but referred The Associated Press to her son, Dan Peeters, who she said was in charge of the mobile home park. Dan Peeters didn't immediately return a message.
