Moths at Midnight program set Wednesday night
A luna moth rests on a blade of grass at Jefferson County Park. As part of National Moth Week, which begins Saturday and continues through July 28, Jefferson County Conservation is working with local entomologist Moni Hayne to spotlight the biodiversity of moths. Hayne says the coolest moths come out at midnight ...”and so will we,” said Jefferson County Naturalist Therese Cummiskey. Two late night sessions for mothing will be offered Wednesday: 10:30-11:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. Each session begins at the Jefferson County Park Nature Center. “You don’t have to have kids to participate, but all kids must be accompanied by an adult,” said Cummiskey.
