Mt. Pleasant takes down Fairfield in boys' soccer
The Fairfield boys’ soccer team fell Thursday to rival Mt. Pleasant 2-0 at Trojan Stadium.
The Panthers scored 10 minutes into the first half on a header from freshman Jack Pieper.
Most of the first half was played in the middle of the field, as both teams struggled to get down to try and score.
Mt. Pleasant’s Nyazum Gwamna would have a shot late in the first half go just wide after Fairfield goalie Austin Lauderman got a piece of the ball.
Fairfield got multiple chances down in the Panthers’ zone in the second half to score, but were unable to bury one in.
Nike Phillips would tack on a late goal for Mt. Pleasant.
