Mystery dinner theater set
BONAPARTE — The Bonaparte Public Library board will be hosting a mystery dinner theater Saturday at the Whiteley Opera House in Bonaparte.
The evening will begin at 5 p.m., with a wine and cheese tasting, followed at 5:30 p.m. by a pork loin supper. Immediately following will be a sweet dessert, and the mystery will begin. Tables will be set with a Mardi Gras theme.
Deep in the south at DuPre Chateau at Mardi Gras in New Orleans, the Krewe of Midas is holding their annual masquerade ball. The most elite Krewe in New Orleans will be decked out in their finery, while gossip and murder run rampant through the crowd.
Old scores are settled and family secrets are exposed when Pierre DuPre, the King of the Krewe, is murdered with a priceless vintage necklace.
Was it the Magnolia queen and her Cajun fiancé who conspired to kill the old man and inherit his millions? Or did Pierre’s young wife he found in Las Vegas do it? Was it his lawyer or his personal chef that killed him for wealth and power? It may have been the gothic novelist next door neighbor or the French maid who knew too much about the eccentric millionaire of the Garden District.
Sit back and relax, put on strands of Mardi Gras beads, refill a glass, and help solve a mystery while watching the cast perform “Murder at Mardi Gras.”
Reservations are required as seating is limited.
Tickets are $25, and reservations can be made by calling 319-592-3677 or 319-931-9836.
