New ambulance arrives

Jan 08, 2014

Midwest Ambulance Service has unveiled a new ambulance to serve Jefferson County. Midwest Ambulance was approached a year ago by the Jefferson County Ambulance Service Agency and was asked to assume control of the maintenance and ownership of the ambulances. “The county continued to see rising costs due to vehicle maintenance of the aging ambulances,” said Kim Chapman, president and CEO of Midwest Ambulance. “The agency expressed concerns over their financial ability to replace the ambulance and wanted a more stable approach to providing emergency medical services. Midwest Ambulance has provided stability in projecting future costs for the county, and just as importantly, we have provided the County with a new ambulance.” Midwest Ambulance has purchased a Mercedes Benz that will provide patients a more comfortable ride. Andre Ruby, field supervisor for Midwest Ambulance Service’s Jefferson County division, said, “I have had the opportunity to treat patients in this new ambulance and am confident the residents of our county will be impressed with the comfort it provides. The ambulance will allow us to respond quicker to requests while also reducing costs with this fuel efficient vehicle.”
