‘No’ vote displays discipline

By William Eddy | Nov 01, 2012

To the editor:

Fellow citizens, we have a huge amount of debt in this country because we have irresponsible leaders. We have a huge obligation and no worthy plan to take of it and that goes for both parties. It would be nice to have a new pool and a new gym in town. Our need is not life threatening but it is genuine.

We should retire our old debts before we take on new ones. We also are in a great recession that has caused a great loss of wealth for the American people, some who are retired or nearing retirement and wondering how they can afford to retire! It would be unwise to commit to further debt at this time.

The civic center was promoted as potentially self supporting and has been a loss for us. Let us show some discipline and regard for fiscal responsibility and vote no at this time.
