Open house Saturday at Lacey park
KEOSAUQUA — Friends of Lacey will hold an open house Saturday at the newly remodeled Beach House Lodge at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park.
Built in the mid 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corp, the limestone building once housed a concession stand and restrooms/showers/changing rooms. Through collaborative efforts of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Great Places and Friends of Lacey, the structure has been refurbished into a rental facility for events.
Free homemade ice cream and desserts will be served from 2-4 p.m., with a drawing for a free one-day rental of the beach house lodge. For more information, visit www.friendsoflacey.org.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the CCC, a table of information and memorabilia will be available for viewing.
The event will be a glimpse of the past and a visit to Lacey-Keosauqua State Park’s future.
