Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra to present Music-on-the-Green concert
OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra will culminate its 26th anniversary season of concerts in Ottumwa with a free outdoor concert, Music-on-the-Green, at 7 p.m. Sunday on the Marge Dodd Stage at Indian Hills Community College.
Folks can bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets. The concert will be under the direction of David Sharp, a professor of instrumental music at Indian Hills Community College. Jim Bovinette, professor of trumpet at Iowa State University, will be the guest soloist. Jamie Poulsen, jazz pianist at Simpson College, and Steve Charlson, jazz bassist from Des Moines, also will be featured.
The program will include a variety of works.
In the event of inclement weather, the free concert will move to the college’s Hellyer Student Life Center.
