Ross Robinson, of Fairfield, captured a silver medal at the State Special Olympic Mid Winter Tournament on March 10-11 in Iowa City. Robinson, 23, qualified for the state tourney by winning the district competition held in February in Burlington. Robinson won his medals in the basketball skills competition. The basketball skills competition is a combined score off a 10-meter dribble, Target Pass and Spot Shot drills. In Iowa City, Robinson was competitive in the 10-meter dribble, made 7 out of 12 in the Spot Shot and had a perfect score in the Target Pass. His mother Rhonda Robinson is a Special Olympics coach and also coaches Ross.
