Pekin artwork displayed at college■ Cardinal, Maharishi and Van Buren high school students will have artwork displayed next week at Iowa Wesleyan College.
MOUNT PLEASANT — Students from area high schools, including Pekin High School, have artwork on display at the 2013 Southeast Iowa Super Conference Art Show at Iowa Wesleyan College.
Works by student artists from Pekin, Columbus, Highland, Iowa Mennonite, Lone Tree, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, WACO, Wapello and Winfield-Mount Union high schools are on display through Friday.
From Monday through March 29, the gallery will feature the work of students from Maharishi, Cardinal, Van Buren, Burlington Notre Dame, Central Lee, Danville, Harmony, Holy Trinity, New London and West Burlington high schools.
The Iowa Wesleyan College Art Gallery is on the main level of the P.E.O. Administration Building on North Main Street in Mount Pleasant. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will be closed for Good Friday March 29.
Admission is free.
Awards are given in each show for Best of Show, as well as first, second, third and honorable mention in 13 categories.
An art workshop hosted by Iowa Wesleyan College is planned Tuesday.
