Pekin baseball, softball play SEISC foes
The Pekin baseball team is now 8-4 on the year after taking down Wapello and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in consecutive nights.
Keaton Winn pitched a complete game two-hitter in Pekin’s 5-1 win Tuesday over Wapello. Winn struck out 14 batters. Not only did he pitch well, but he also went 2-4 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs. Cade Millikin also had two hits in the game.
Pekin defeated EBF 5-4 Wednesday in Packwood after a Trevor Northup walk-off RBI single.
The Rockets were down 4-1 but rallied to tie the game.
Kolby Allsup led the offense against EBF by going 3-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored. Cole Reighard went 2-3. Petie Clubb and Jaydan Nicholson both had a hit.
Starting pitcher Zach Sloan went six innings and struck out seven batters.
Pekin is scheduled to play tonight at Winfield-Mount Union.
The Pekin softball team fell at Wapello 6-3 Tuesday.
Peyton Atwood went 1-3 with two RBIs. Cassidy Tolle went 2-3 with two runs scored and a RBI.
The Panthers split a doubleheader Wednesday at Central Lee.
The first game was a 10-0 victory. Pitcher Courtney Comstock went seven innings and allowed just six hits and two walks. Tolle, Sloan Reighard, Emily Bemis, Madelyn Baker and Nikole Arendt each had multiple hits.
The second game was a 6-1 loss. Atwood had a double and two RBIs. Tiana Slaney had two hits and a RBI.
Pekin (9-7) is scheduled to play tonight against Winfield-Mount Union.
