Pekin High School senior Cade Millikin has received the 2014 UnityPoint Health Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.

Millikin was inducted into the National Honor Society and participated in quiz bowl, speech, drama, Spanish club, FFA, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 4-H and chamber choir.

“The trait that I admire most is that Cade prefers a challenge compared to an easy path,” Pekin High School Principal JoAnne Morenz said. “He doesn’t want the opportunity to slide; he wants to learn, to experiment, to question, and to examine. He believes in what he can do and will work to prove otherwise to anyone who says that he can’t.”
