Photographer at art association show
The Fairfield Art Association will host photographer, author and lecturer Reny Parker from 7-8 p.m. Friday in the Main Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
The association is exhibiting Parker’s watercolor-like images, and Parker will explain her technique and be available to sign her book.
Parker has been photographing nature, specializing in wildflowers, since 1990. Her work has appeared in numerous group and solo exhibits, various printed magazines, brochures and posters, plus, RenysWildflowers.com has more than 3,000 identified wildflowers.
In 2011, Parker’s photo won first place in the botanical category of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at University of Texas Wildflower Magazine.
Parker’s popular field guide “Wildflowers of Northern California’s Wine Country & North Coast Ranges” won two awards: 2008 Independent Publisher Book Award, Silver Medal for Best Regional Non-Fiction; and 2011 Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards, first place winner in the reference category.
Parker lives with her husband in Maharishi Vedic City part of the year and off the power grid in California’s north coast ranges the rest of the year.
A limited number of Parker’s book is available at the Fairfield Art Association studio sales gallery.
The Fairfield Art Association’s dual exhibits of “Reny’s Wildflower Photography” and “Pottery for Home & Garden” by Linda Ross continue through the end of June in the Main Gallery at the convention center.
