The Fairfield Police Department reports the following calls and incidents logged at dispatch:
An accident occurred at intersection of South Second Street and West Washington Avenue. Cira Cendejus was traveling north in the 200 block of South Second. Mark Rochotte was traveling west on Washington. The vehicles collided.
Rochotte said he failed to see Cendejus’s vehicle because he followed the vehicle in front of him into the intersection. Rochotte was cited on failure to yield. Cendejus was cited with failure to have a valid license and an insurance violation. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $5,500.
A citizen reported a disturbance of the peace near the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce between a male and a female. When officers arrived, they observed a verbal argument between two subjects. Officers advised them to either take their disagreement indoors or to cease arguing.
A purse was stolen from a Walmart shopping cart. The purse, which was worth $10, contained $20 in cash and credit cards. The subject canceled all of her credit cards.
A caller advised that a vehicle loaned to her was stolen. She said she looked out of her window and noticed the white 1991 Jeep Cherokee was gone. She said the keys were not in the vehicle and it had a quarter of a tank of gas. Authorities have no suspects or leads in the case.
