The Fairfield Police Department reports the following calls and incidents logged at dispatch:
A caller advised that power lines were down and some traffic made contact with them, however, there were no injuries. Officers worked with the Fairfield Fire Department to direct traffic and maintain road safety.
A caller reported a possible rabid raccoon in her backyard and requested officers to shoot it. Caller said she would hate for someone to get bitten. Officers perused the scene for the animal. Wednesday, officers received a call that a raccoon was spotted in another backyard. Officers assisted the Fairfield Fire Department in removing the animal, which was injured, but not rabid.
A caller reported that a dog chased her during her morning run. Caller said the dog appeared to be a boxer-mix and it ran after her until she was far enough away from its residence. Officers located the animal’s owners.
Everett Green was arrested on a warrant from Keokuk County. After the arrest, Green was transported back to Keokuk County.
