Fairfield Police Department made a second arrest in an ongoing investigation into recent car and residential burglaries. Ronnie Hanen, 47, of Fairfield was arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree theft.
8:16 a.m. citizen heard FPD investigating several vehicle burglaries and came to the station to see if items stolen from his truck sometime on July 6 or 7 were items confiscated; they were not. He filed a report, which he hadn’t done in July. His missing items are a blue Ryobi sawzal electric saw in a gray case and aluminum hand-held pruners with red handles and a rusty spring in a leather holster, total value at $100.
9:34 a.m. caller reported a brass gas cap from a 1929 Ford taken while car parked at McDonalds restaurant for an hour beginning at 7:45 a.m.
9:41 p.m. Andrew Chatfield, 16, was charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
12:21 a.m. Charles Workman reported a porch fire. Police stood by for assistance to firefighters.
4:15 p.m. Jet Stop reported a gas drive-off.
8:29 p.m. Jim Williams, 52, was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense, and speeding on Walton Road.
12:46 a.m. Super 8 requested assistance with loud guest in the lobby and hallways. Police went out and advised people to leave. Super 8 called again at 2:16 a.m. with same problem.
1:28 p.m. report of a storage unit broken into; a washer and dryer are missing.
6:21 p.m. caller reported losing a wallet.
6:28 p.m. three different anymous callers reported burning in area; officers went to 606 W. Jackson Avenue for trash being burnt in backyard. Officers had residents throw dirt on fire to stop it.
9:08 p.m. a fourth caller reported the West Jackson Avenue trash fire was sending her to the emergency room with health issues.
