Fairfield Police Department reports the following dispatch calls:
11:53 a.m. a hit and run vehicle accident was reported; damage was under $500. The vehicle which left is described as a light blue Toyota Camry which will have damage on driver’s side with white paint transfer.
12:23 p.m. Robert B. Stoops, 18, was cited with failure to yield right of way when he exited McDonald’s parking lot and ran into the side of another vehicle.
6:10 p.m. citizen contacted police about railroad crossing arms going up and down with no train coming.
1:39 a.m. report of disturbing the peace.
1:58 a.m. report of disturbing the peace.
11:42 a.m. Jonathon Rowl, 24, was cited for failure to maintain control; he was driving west on Burlington Avenue by Chautauqa Park, lost control and ran over one sign, which broke off. The vehicle came to rest when it ran into another sign at the park entrance. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side but was able to drive away from the scene.
12:21 p.m. a trailer fire was reported.
13:07 p.m. Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store detained a shoplifter; Mervin Heckethorne was charged with fifth-degree theft and a written warning for trespassing.
3:37 p.m. vandalism was reported; a side of a house was spray painted.
5:12 p.m. two beagle dogs were found and taken to the veterinarian office.
