Fairfield Police Department reports two Fairfield hotels, Super 8 and AmericInn Fairfield, each received phone scams Tuesday. Caller advised each hotel it needed to purchase a Green Dot debit card money package at Kum & Go, call back with a confirmation number within an hour, or else Alliant Energy would shut off power. Alliant is not involved.

Police stopped five cars Tuesday and issued six citations for not wearing seatbelts.

5:06 a.m. small, white, curly haired dog reported lost.

6:30 a.m. two different complaints about the same barking dog. Resident with dog given a warning.

10:08 a.m. complaint of loud noise, then power went out. Notified power company.

11:03 a.m. Hy-Vee Gas reported a gas drive-off.

11:50 a.m. two dogs inside parked car at McDonalds, window cracked a little.

1:11 p.m. report of a gas drive-off.

5:21 p.m. report of a dog loose.

6:18 p.m. Schaus Vorhies Manufacturing reported seeing someone dump trash in its business trash container. Officer contacted person, who agreed to return and get trash to avoid being charged.

Monday

2:21 a.m. caller reported a dog hit by a vehicle; officer took a husky-type dog to the veterinarian clinic.

4:05 a.m. caller reported a barking dog.

7:33 a.m. Carol Ann Moothart, 76, was driving west on Grimes Avenue, missed the yield sign at North B Street and collided with a car driven by Gary Rysdam, 52, traveling north on B Street. The impact destroyed the street sign at B Street and Grimes Avenue. Damage to vehicles was estimated at more than $1,500. Moothart was cited for failure to obey yield sign.

1:09 p.m. caller reported a theft.

5:48 p.m. caller reported a barking dog.

6:30 p.m. officer picked up a tan, male dog running loose and took to the vet clinic.

6:44 p.m. University BP reported a gas drive-off.

6:51 p.m. a child kicked a ball that broke a window in an apartment.

7:20 p.m. caller reported a big boom, possibly a transformer blown, power is out in the area.

8:33 p.m. phone harassment reported.

Sunday

3:09 p.m. caller reported a theft.

4:05 p.m. complaint of loud music.

Saturday

1:18 p.m. harassment reported.

3 p.m. caller reported lost eyeglasses.

Friday

10:09 a.m. caller reported vandalism to a building.

10:48 a.m. caller reported a Craig’s List scam.

12:34 p.m. Steven Pilkington Jr. was arrested, charged with failure to obey traffic control device, driving under suspension and interference with official acts.

1:30 p.m. Zachary Seidel was arrested for trespassing on real property.

2:32 p.m. caller reported his silver Trek mountain-style bike stolen.

4:13 p.m. caller reported vandalism to garage.

5:18 p.m. Jack Gibson Jr. was arrested and released on a police citation for discharging a weapon (a pellet gun) in city limits.

10:49 p.m. a burglary was reported.
