Fairfield Police Department conducted a traffic stop around 2:03 a.m. Thursday and arrested Nicole Lena Lehan Davis, 28, of Fairfield and Rebecca Ann Grubbs, 39, of Fairfield.
Davis is charged with possession with intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a Class B felony; drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and violation of the gun conveyance law, a simple misdemeanor.
Grubbs is charged with driving while suspended, revoked, cancelled or denied, a simple misdemeanor.
The Fairfield Police Department confirms a criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Police responded to an accident at 11:13 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of West Burlington Avenue. Jacob Newton Hood, 21, of Fairfield was traveling west and stopped in a line of traffic at a signal light, driving a 1997 Mercury Cougar. Murray Foster III, 63, of Fairfield, also was driving west in a 2007 Honda Civic EX, had stopped behind Hood, saw traffic began to move, did not see traffic had stopped again and collided with the Cougar in front of him. Damage to the Mercury was an estimated $500 and $3,000 to the Honda. Hood was cited for no insuranc, accident related. Foster was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
