Fairfield Police Department reports a three-vehicle accident at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of West Burlington Avenue, with no injuries. A 2007 Ford Taurus and a 2009 Toyota Tacoma, both driving west, were stopped for the red traffic light at Burlington and Fourth Street. Stephanie Elizabeth Faulkner, 22, of Fairfield, was driving west in a 2002 Toyota Camry. She said she became distracted by her dog getting out of a cage and failed to see the stopped traffic. Faulkner collided with the Tacoma and pushed it forward into the Taurus. The Taurus received an estimated $1,500 in damages; the Tacoma, $3,500; and the Camry, $5,000. Faulkner was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
7:27 a.m. caller found a 7-year old boy walking back in forth on the sidewalk in front of her residence; he had told her he didn’t know where he lived. Officer took the child home and advised the mother to write his address on the labels of the boy’s shirt tags.
3:05 p.m. caller reported the theft of a box of mail that had been delivered, then taken June 26; also reported the theft of a ceramic pot which happened earlier.
6:32 p.m. caller reported a tree limb was partially broken off and hanging over the road. Dispatch advised public works.
9:56 p.m. report of loud fireworks.
10:14 p.m. disturbing the peace complaint.
