The Fairfield Police Department reports the following incidents logged into dispatch:
7:49 a.m. – Dollar Tree advised that someone broke into the store after hours. A metal stand inside the store was knocked over, but there was no projectile inside of the business and the door was still locked. Nothing was missing or vandalized inside of the store.
6:19 p.m. – Jared Trevor Wright, 20, was arrested and charged with third-degree theft and for possession of alcohol under the legal age of 21.
6:23 p.m. – An abandoned bicycle was reported in the 200 block of East Washington Avenue.
3:32 a.m. – Kyle Allen Schrobilgen, 18, was arrested in the 200 block of East Pierce Avenue and charged with public consumption or intoxication and possession of alcohol under the legal age of 21 years.
11:13 a.m. – Police dispatch received two anonymous calls about a fight that allegedly occurred at Lantern Park Apartments. One female caller reported that the fight, which involved around five individuals, occurred behind the building. When officers arrived on the scene, they did not see anyone fighting. An officer spoke with several people who said they did not see anything.
4:55 p.m. – A caller reported harassment and an assault. He told police dispatch that he was intoxicated while speaking on the phone and that an elderly male neighbor had exchanged words with him. The caller and the male elderly male subject exchanged more words and the caller advised that the elderly male struck him. The caller advised that the elderly male tried to hit him again, but he fell. The caller said two witnesses were present and thought that he might have pushed the elderly male. However, the caller said that wasn’t the case.
5:48 p.m. – An accident with minor injuries occurred on Kirkwood Avenue. John Copeland traveled west on Kirkwood Avenue down a hill toward Court Street. Donald Howbert didn’t see Copeland due to his vision being obstructed by a bush. He pulled out in front of Copeland from the stop sign and Copeland struck his vehicle. Howbert sustained minor injuries and his vehicle sustained damages on the driver’s side. Officers gave Howbert a ride back to his residence.
8:37 p.m. – A citizen complained of fireworks in the areas of Madison and Highland avenues.
12:30 a.m. – Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of East Briggs Avenue.
2:08 a.m. – Kendall Robert Mickels, 23, was arrested at Second Street and Washington Avenue. He was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offence.
11:53 a.m. – Genia Ollum, 54, was cited for driving while suspended.
