Arrests

David Tanner, 69, of Fairfield, was arrested Monday for trespassing at the Argiro Student Building.

 

Assaults

A subject called police Friday to report he had been assaulted by another man after a verbal argument turned physical. The caller reported the other man grabbed him by the throat and began to choke him. The other man told police the caller threw an ashtray at him. The caller had slight red marks on his neck and the other man had a small cut on his ear. Neither party wished to pursue charges and decided they would separate for the day.

A caller reported Sunday morning eight to 10 people were fighting in the 600 block of West Jackson Street. Police responded and discovered one individual had been jumped by two others. The subject refused medical attention.

 

Thefts

A subject reported her phone was pick pocketed Friday. The subject later said she was not sure if the phone was stolen or misplaced.

A subject reported Friday her wallet was taken out of her car. The wallet was found in the street and turned in at the Jefferson County Law Enforcement Center.

A subject reported Friday that while he was at the doctor’s office on Jan. 23, someone stole $152 from his wallet. The subject told police he recently realized the individual also stole his debit card and has taken $927.50 from his bank account. The investigation is ongoing.

A caller reported Saturday a bike valued at $250 was stolen.

Police received a report of a stolen motorcycle from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Saturday. The vehicle was taken from storage in the past three weeks. The motorcycle has an eagle talon kickstand, saddle bags, “Live to Ride” and “Eagle Spirit” insignia on the primary cover.

 

Threats

Police investigated a threatening message Sunday sent via Facebook to three individuals.

 

Missing person

A subject reported Friday night her son was missing.

A subject reported Saturday morning her son was missing. The son returned home that day.

Casey Carly Lerdal, 16, of Mount Pleasant, was reported missing Sunday by the Mount Pleasant Police Department. Lerdal has blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair which is parted on the right side. She is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 152 pounds.

A caller was informed that a woman, Teresa Bruegge, from Mount Pleasant was reported missing. The caller said she saw a woman matching Bruegge’s description at Saint Alfonso Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant.

 

No-contact order

A subject reported Saturday her brother was in her trailer, which was a violation of a no-contact order. The caller reported she was sleeping when she woke up and found her brother in the kitchen with her son.

 

Suspicious Activity

A subject reported Friday her neighbor had spotlighted her house the past two nights. Police spoke to the neighbor, who said he was trying out a new flashlight from his apartment window. Police advised him not to shine it at houses or people. The neighbor requested to file a complaint against the subject who filed the original complaint.

A caller reported Sunday somebody cut one-quarter inch off the latch on the lock to her screen door. She told police she believed somebody tried to break into her residence.

 

Disturbing peace

Police responded to Monroe Apartments Saturday morning in reference to reports of yelling and banging doors. Police gave a ride to a man who did not have anybody to take him home and who did not have money for a taxi.

 

Traffic citation

Chih Chiu, 42, was cited Friday for failure to obey a stop sign.

William Thomas was cited Friday for speeding.

Courtney Brown was cited Friday for expired registration.

Teresa Handy De Font was cited Sunday for driving 35 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Stephen Higdon was cited Sunday for driving 35 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Crystal Leverne was cited Sunday for expired registration and an insurance violation.

Jay Jeffrey, 47, was cited Monday for striking an unattended vehicle.

A vehicle’s tire was chalked Friday to see if it would be moved within 24 hours. On Saturday, the owner was cited for extended parking.

 

Dangerous driver

A caller reported an erratic driver in Fairfield Friday afternoon. Police stopped the driver at Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store. The driver said she did not think she was driving erratically. Police advised her of the complaint.

 

Disabled vehicle

An officer helped push a vehicle from the intersection of Ninth Street and Burlington Avenue Saturday to the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center parking lot. The vehicle had run out of gas.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was conducted on a subject Friday. The subject was advised to contact his mother.

A caller reported Monday somebody was possibly passed out in the Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store parking lot with a beer in his hand.

 

Trespass

A caller reported Saturday a vehicle was driving around that had been in the junkyard the prior night. The caller requested extra patrol for the rest of the weekend.

 

Animals

A subject was delivering a pizza Saturday in the 900 block of South Third Street when a small black dog bit her on the index finger, drawing blood, and her lower leg. Police contacted the owner and discovered the dog had a rabies vaccination from December 2012. The subject was advised of the vaccination.

A brown brindle pitbull and brown and white pitbull were found in the 800 block of West Adams Avenue Saturday. The dogs were taken to the vet clinic.

 

Gas leak

A gas leak was reported at Kum & Go Saturday.
