Polishville annual bazaar Sunday
Polishville Community Center has announced its August events, including the annual Polishville Bazaar, two dances and two evenings of bingo.
The annual Polishville Bazaar will be Sunday. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the raffle drawing will be at about 1:30 p.m.
According to Teresa Mottet, the dinner menu has some changes this year and will include a “huge” salad bar, hot chicken or ham sandwiches, cake and more.
The cost for dinner is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children.
Two raffles are organized. The first consists of three quilts: one hand pieced and hand quilted; and two knotted. The second raffle is for cash prizes. Winners do not have to be present.
Those who visit the bazaar also can see the museum full of displays, the shrine in the cemetery and the grotto on the grounds.
“It will be a great day to visit with old friends from far and near,” said Mottet. “Everybody welcome.”
The first dance in August will be Aug. 11, with Goodman/Anders of North English and Newhall providing the music. Food will be for sale at 4:30 p.m., and dancing will be from 6-9 p.m.
A dance in honor of Bill Peck’s 85th birthday, with Jerry Beauchamp of Eldora providing the music, is set for Aug. 25. Food will be available at 4:30 p.m., and dancing will be from 6-9 p.m. The dance is free.
Bingo is set for Aug. 12 and Aug. 26. At both events, food will be available at 4:30 p.m., and games will begin at 5:45 p.m.
The dances and bingo games are open to the public, and people of all ages can attend.
