Polishville event dates updated

The annual bazaar, a lunch with bingo games, and a dance are planned in August at Polishville Community Center.

The annual bazaar is planned Sunday, with dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a raffle beginning at about 1:30 p.m.

Lunch and bingo is planned Aug. 13. Lunch will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with bingo starting at 12:30 p.m. A lunch, with bingo, is planned for the second Wednesday of each month.

A free dance for Bill Peck’s 86th birthday is planned Aug. 24, with Ned Francis of Mount Sterling providing the music. Peck is secretary/treasurer of the Polishville Association. Food will be for sale at 4:30 p.m., and dancing will be from 6-9 p.m.

Events are open to the public, and people of all ages can attend.

New officers for Polishville

The Polishville Association Inc. has new officers.

Hazel Greiner of Brighton is president, replacing William Peck.

Dan Greiner of Brighton is vice president, replacing Caryl Smith. Smith plans to continue working with the Polishville group.

William Peck of East Pleasant Plain is secretary/treasurer, replacing Thomas Worley. Worley retired after more than 20 years of service. He became treasurer in 1994 following the death of Esther Peck.

David Shemanski of Keota oversees the cemetery.

Teresa Mottet has been the association’s typist for many years.
