Quad County Health Fair set March 16 at IHCC
OTTUMWA — The second annual Quad County Health Fair is set from 7 a.m. to noon March 16 at the Rural Health Eduction Center on the Indian Hills Community College campus in Ottumwa.
The free fair, open to residents of Jefferson, Van Buren, Keokuk and Wapello counties, is an opportunity for adults and children to learn information promoting healthy living.
Dozens of vendors, giveaways, demonstrations and free health assessments are planned.
Among the activities are Dizzercise for Kids, zumba and chair massages.
The free health assessments include foot exams, eye exams, flexibility, stroke quiz, sleep testing, derma scan, osteoporosis screening, blood pressure checks, dental screening, diabetes screening and body fat analysis.
According to the Seneca Area Agency on Aging, Researchers at Iowa State University will conduct a free nutritional assessment for seniors age 65 years or older. Those willing to answer a few questions and have some measurements taken will receive the “Health and Homemade” cookbook.
Attendees who want to participate in the blood draw for $25 are required to preregister.
