Register by Nov. 14 for grant-writing workshop
A grant-writing workshop is scheduled 5:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Jefferson County ISU Extension office for representatives of nonprofits, local government and schools.
Grant Writing 101 will provide hands-on training in seeking and writing grant applications. The program is sponsored by Jefferson County ISU Extension.
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, iPad or tablet device to the workshop, if they have one available.
The fee for the workshop is $25. To register, call 472-2591; the registration deadline is Nov. 14.
The training will be presented by Jane Nolan Goeken, a community and economic development program specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach. She has more than 28 years of grant writing experience, including work with a variety of federal, state, local and foundation grant programs. She has served as a grant application reviewer and has helped set up grant award and review programs.
Goeken will assist workshop participants in exploring various public and private funding sources, and provide instruction and tips on planning projects and writing successful grant applications.
