RUSS board meeting Wednesday
MOUNT PLEASANT (GTNS) — The Regional Utility Service Systems Board of Directors will meet in regular session at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry County Emergency Management building in Mount Pleasant.
RUSS board members will be considering the election of a new board secretary/treasurer during the meeting. The position had been held by Steve Burgmeier, but he was not re-elected as a Jefferson County supervisor in November.
They also will be updated on the Mount Sterling discontinuance, as Mount Sterling is no longer an incorporated town in Van Buren County.
The agenda also includes several items related to the Argyle sewer system and wastewater treatment plant, an update from the executive director, county contributions for operational costs for RUSS, training for newly elected board members, amended/substituted joint agreement for Washington County/Rubio project, legal action to collect past due debt from the city of Franklin, arbitration proceedings with Wapello County, litigation proceedings with Mount Union, the Des Moines County project Augusta, and public comments.
The meeting is open to the public.
