Ruth Arlene Brown, 91, formerly of Stockport, died Thursday, Jan.10, 2013, in Eolia, Mo.

A funeral was at 10 a.m.  today at the Heritage Event Center in Stockport. The Rev. Jason Mott officiated. Interment is in the Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport.

The family received friends Sunday at Heritage Event Center.

Mrs. Brown was born May 28, 1921, in Fairfield, the daughter of Vern and Lora Nelson Bradfield. She married Paul La Verne Dec. 30, 1940. at Keosauqua’s Christian Church parsonage.

She lived in the Packwood community in her younger years. The family moved to the Stockport community, where she graduated from the Stockport High School.

A homemaker, she was a lifelong member of the Stockport Christian Church.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Stockport.

Survivors include seven children: Keith Brown and spouyse Carol of Rochester, NY., Kermit Brown of Farmington, Karyl Adam and spouse Donald of Eolia, Karen Wells and spouse Larry of Des Moines, Kent Brown and spouse Susan of Des Moines, Kristine Cass and spouse Larry of Stockport and Kevin Brown and spouse Marjoria of Blue springs, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren;11 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Vergil Bradfield of Batavia, Donald Bradfield of Bloomfield and Delbert Bradfield of Papillion, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; her parents; one son, Kenneth Brown; one granddaughter; two great-great grandsons; one daughter-in-law Darlene Brown; and five siblings, Clarice Bradfield, Aura Keller, Emily Lair, Lorna Jean Thompson and Edra Bradfield.
