S.H.A.R.E. food package orders due April 5
Orders are due April 5 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available in April.
Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org. The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. April 20 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $25 “best value” package includes four 5-ounce pork tenderloin tips made by Omaha Steaks, 1 pound fully cooked meatballs, 2 pounds chicken thighs, 1 pound fully cooked pork sausage patties made by Jimmy Dean, 23 ounces Prego original pasta sauce, 16 ounces Reggano fettuccini, 1 pound butter and herb potato flakes and an assortment of seasonal produce.
The $13.50 grocery package includes an assortment of fresh seasonal produce, 23 ounces Prego original pasta sauce, 16 ounces Reggano fettuccini and 1 pound butter and herb potato flakes.
The $13.50 meat-only package includes four 5–ounce pork tenderloin tips made by Omaha Steaks, 1 pound fully cooked meatballs, 2 pounds chicken thighs, 1 pound fully cooked pork sausage patties made by Jimmy Dean.
The $22 Grill Box special includes two 6-ounce choice sirloin steaks, 12 ounces Italian sausage, 10 ounces pork tenderloin, two 6-ounce boneless pork chops, 1 pound chicken breasts and 1 pound ground beef.
The $15 Jumbo Chicken Tender special includes 5 pounds of Tyson ready-to-cook breaded chicken tenders.
The $22 Bon Appetit Entrees include two 12-ounce meals per entree: beef in red wine sauce, creamy pesto chicken, roasted garlic chicken, lemon butter chicken and chicken Florentine.
The $15 breakfast sandwich box includes 12 4.8-ounce sausage, egg and cheese on an English muffin.
Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order “choice” items.
The choice items for April are: 5 pounds of Ore-Ida hash browns triangle wedges for $6.25; 2 pounds fully cooked steak strips for $6.50; 6 pounds of Perdue roaster boneless chicken breasts for $12; and 2-pound bag of onion rings for $6.50.
Food packages are subject to changes.
The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
