S.H.A.R.E. orders due Jan. 10
Orders are due before Jan. 10 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages.
Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org.
The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different main food packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $25 “best value” package includes: 1 pound of 90 percent-lean ground beef; 1 pound of chicken vegetable stir fry; 1.5 pounds of Savory Servings turkey tenderloin; 14 ounces fully cooked maple sausage links; 16 ounces spaghetti; 26 ounces of spaghetti sauce; and assorted seasonal produce.
The $13.50 grocery package includes: 16 ounces spaghetti; 26 ounces of spaghetti sauce; and assorted seasonal produce.
The $13.50 meat-only package includes: 1 pound of 90 percent-lean ground beef; 1 pound of chicken vegetable stir fry; 1.5 pounds of Savory Servings turkey tenderloin; and 14 ounces fully cooked maple sausage links.
The $19 Freshetta Breakfast Flatbreads box has 24 5-ounce turkey sausage, egg and cheese on flatbread.
The $21 Bacon-Wrap Sirloin Steak Package includes 10 5.5-ounce choice bacon-wrapped sirloins.
The $20 Turkey Cutlet Special has 7.2 pounds of fully cooked turkey cutlets.
The $16.50 Angus Beef Slider Box has 20 individually wrapped 2.45-ounce beef steak patty with cheese on a bun.
Participants who order at least one of the seven main food packages for January also have the option to order “choice” items.
The choice items for January are:
• Four 2-pound bags of sausages wrapped in pancakes with blueberry flavored bits for $18;
• A 2-pound box of antibiotic-free, fully cooked and individually quick-frozen chicken breast strips for $9;
• A 2-pound bag of onion rings for $7;
• A 10-inch, 48-ounce ready-to-bake, double-crust deep-dish apple pie for $5.50.
Food packages are subject to changes.
The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
