S.H.A.R.E. orders due Sept. 13
Orders are due Sept. 13 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available in September.
Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org.
The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $25 “best value” package includes 12 ounces of John Morrell bacon; 1.5 pounds of lemon garlic pork loin roast made by Hormel Always Tender; 12 ounces of fully cooked steak strips; 10 ounces of fully cooked gluten-free, no-antibiotic chicken bites; 8 ounces of block Colby Jack cheese; six Sensibly Indulgent chocolate brownies with whipped cream topping; and seasonal produce assortment.
The $13.50 grocery package includes 8 ounces of block Colby Jack cheese; six Sensibly Indulgent chocolate brownies with whipped cream topping; and seasonal produce assortment.

The $30 baking/pantry package includes 4 pounds granulated sugar; 5 pounds flour; 1 pound baking soda; 8 ounces vanilla; 12 ounces chocolate chip; 5 ounces spray oil; 2 pounds brown sugar; 6 ounces walnuts; 12 ounces peanut butter; 14 ounces oatmeal; 10 ounces vanilla chips; 10 ounces mini marshmallows; 2 pounds powdered sugar; 6 ounce raisins; 0.7 ounce cinnamon; 1 pound Crisco; and 16.5 ounce baking mix.
The $17 turkey sandwiches package includes 12 6.5-ounce honey-roasted turkey, with cheddar cheese and mustard on a ciabatta roll.
The $18 fire-baked pizza package includes 24 individually wrapped 7-inch pepperoni pizzas.
The $17.50 breakfast burritos package includes 24 3-ounce scrambled egg and cheese breakfast burritos.
Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order “choice” items.
The choice items for September are: 4 pounds of fully cooked boneless prime rib roast for $25; 6 pounds of pierogies, including 2 pounds of potato and four-cheese, 2 pounds of potato and onion and 2 pounds of potato and bacon, for $10; 2 pounds of Ken Davis fully cooked pork loin back ribs in barbecue sauce for $11; and 5 pounds of ready-to-cook chicken breast tenders, lightly dusted with flour, for $10.50.
Food packages are subject to changes.
The nonprofit food-buying organization offers food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
