S.H.A.R.E. orders due
Orders are due Nov. 8 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available this month.
Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org.
The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Nov. 23 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $25 “best value” package includes: 1.5 pounds of fully cooked maple pork sausage patties; 1 pound turkey cutlets; 12 ounces fully cooked chicken breast strips; 1 pound Canadian bacon; 12 ounces Bonser home-style noodles; an 8-inch prebaked pumpkin pie; and seasonal produce assortment.
The $13.50 grocery package includes: 12 ounces Bonser home-style noodles; an 8-inch prebaked pumpkin pie; and seasonal produce assortment.
The $13.50 meat-only package includes: 1.5 pounds of fully cooked maple pork sausage patties; 1 pound turkey cutlets; 12 ounces fully cooked chicken breast strips; and 1 pound Canadian bacon.
The $30 Thanksgiving dinner package includes all the fixings for a meal for six: a 10- to 12-pound turkey; stuffing mix; green beans, potatoes and gravy; baking mix; pumpkin pie; sweet potatoes; celery; carrots; apples; and oranges.
The $22 Breakfast Sandwiches package includes: 24 3.9-ounce Bob Evans biscuits with bacon, egg and cheese.
The $19 pasta package includes: 18 ounces of stuffed shells; 18 ounces stuffed manicotti; 13 ounces ravioli; 16 ounces tri-color tortellini; 12 ounces sun-dried tomato stuffed ziti; 13 ounces spinach and cheese stuffed ziti; and 13 ounces potato and cheddar pierogies.
The $22 pork chop box includes: 16 6-ounce boneless pork chops.
Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order “choice” items.
The choice items for November are:
• A $16 8-pound boneless spiral ham, full muscle, all natural juice;
• A $12 frozen vegetable box with two 12-ounce packages each of broccoli, corn, a winter blend of broccoli and cauliflower and a summer blend of squash, green beans, red pepper and carrots;
• A $22 meat and cheese box with two 7-ounce beef summer sausages; 12-ounce beef summer sausage; 8 ounces each of mild cheddar cheese, Colby cheese and pepper Jack cheese;
• A $7.50 cheesecake sampler with New York, turtle, strawberry and chocolate marble flavors totaling 19.2 ounces.
Food packages are subject to changes.
The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
